Frederic was the love of my life and a big influence in my life. How we met was one of those "fairy tale" romantic encounters. We travelled the same route on China Airlines: first Taiwan, Hong Kong and then Thailand. We only met at Hong Kong airport. At that time, I thought he was a bit odd to be the angmoh sitting by the window in the air-conditioned airport getting the sun but that's European for you! We were supposed to be seated next to each other but someone took his seat instead. If not for the Thai brother and sister who sat in between our rows, we would never have talked to each other. I'm glad we did because we were inseparable after that. He bought us a matching necklace that says 吉祥 and hope that we are "lucky" (happy, healthy, prosperous) all our lives.
